Another member of the 2005 golden generation, Uzun has the potential to join Guler and Yildiz as another genuine star of this team. In 2025-26 he showed glimpses of his talent but the campaign was also restricted by injuries and he has yet to establish himself as a starter for the national team. Born in Regensburg, the German FA was keen to convince him to play for the Nationalmannschaft, but Uzun opted to represent Turkey. "I listened to my heart," he said of his decision to wear the red shirt of the Crescent-Stars. The national team coach, Vincenzo Montella, is a big admirer, saying: "Our belief in his potential is immense." A silky, versatile attacker who can play as a false nine or a traditional No 10, drifting between lines, he made his international debut while playing in the German second division with Nuremberg. Keep an eye on him – he could be the surprise package of this team at the World Cup.
