Profile

Born in Paris, centre-back Talbi played youth football for Paris FC before his family returned to Tunisia when he was 12 years old. He continued his development at Espérance de Tunis, before making the leap to join Turkish side Caykur Rizespor at the age of 20, moving on to Rubin Kazan and then French side Lorient. Talbi made his first appearance for the national team at 22 and has since become an undisputed starter in Sabri Lamouchi’s well-drilled defence. Named Tunisia’s player of the year in 2023, Talbi is a true warrior and one of the names almost certain to feature in the starting XI at this year’s World Cup.
