Ali Abdi #2
DEF · Nice · Veteran · Tunisia
Profile
A true success story. Few people believed Abdi could make it in Europe when he left Club Africain for Paris FC in 2019, at the age of 26. But, through spells in Ligue 2 with Paris FC and Caen, followed by a move to Ligue 1 with Nice, Abdi has proven himself to be one of those rare left-backs capable of changing a match on his own. He has also succeeded one of Tunisia’s legendary defenders, Ali Maâloul, in the national side. Before reaching this level, Abdi endured many hardships. He struggled with injuries, including pubalgia, which limited his chances at Espérance before he joined their cross-city rivals. Named Tunisia’s player of the year in 2024 and 2025, Abdi continues to give everything for the national team shirt. Tunisia’s first-choice player in his position remains a key figure in Sabri Lamouchi’s setup thanks to his defensive nous and attacking contributions.
