Kim Moon-hwan #15

DEF · Daejeon Hana Citizen · Former forward · South Korea

Profile

Spent his formative years as a forward, and stayed there until he moved into professional football. But when he joined Busan IPark in 2017 his potential as an attacking full-back became clear, and since then he has grown into a mainstay of the national side, widely regarded as one of the pre-eminent right-backs in the country. He had a season in the US with Los Angeles FC in 2021-22, and has previously cited the Russian legend Yuri Zhirkov as his inspiration. During his time at Chung-Ang University he forged a formidable, league-winning attacking partnership with Cho Yu-min, now his national team colleague who himself underwent a metamorphosis into a centre-back.
