According to local reports, several European clubs – such as Cercle Brugge and Sporting Braga – inquired about the technical 27-year-old last summer but got short shrift from the four-time Asian champions after his impressive performances at the Club World Cup when he outshone some bigger names on the global stage. He does like a big game as he showed with a spectacular strike in the final of the 2021 Asian Champions League. Plays most of the games for Al-Hilal as his coach, Simone Inzaghi, is a fan of his versatility and intelligence. He is in fine form and looks ready to step out of the shadow of his more famous namesake in the team.
