Duke Lacroix #13
DEF · Colorado Springs Switchbacks · Social activist · Haiti
Profile
Before he was marauding down the flank for Haiti, Duke Lacroix was a student athlete at the University of Pennsylvania, balancing lectures - he got a degree in sociology, and followed it with a master’s in sports psychology - with dreams that stretched far beyond campus. Fast, fearless, and blessed with a sprinter’s engine, Lacroix plays left-back like a winger in disguise. He bombs forward, whips in crosses, wins his headers despite not being the tallest, and recovers with impressive pace. Since committing to the Haiti national football team in 2023 Lacroix has worn the colours with pride, attacking every duel as if it were personal. Outside football he is involved in politics and social activism, as vice president of United Black Players, president of the USL Players Association, the union representing players in the United Soccer League, and working for Onrise, who provide mental health support to athletes and others in high-pressure roles.
