Marvin Senaya #26

DEF · Auxerre · Late call-up · Ghana

Profile

At the start of the year not many would have expected the 25-year-old to be in the World Cup squad but, having made his national team debut in March against Austria, he excelled against Wales in May and is now competing for a spot in the starting XI. The France-born right-back started out at Strasbourg and has worked his way up the leagues – including a spell in Switzerland with Lausanne – before he joined Auxerre in 2025. He could have chosen to play for Togo – his father is Yao Mawuko Senaya, who won 26 caps for the country of his birth between 1998 and 2008. In March, Marvin became one of only a few footballers to have been called up to two national teams for the same international window as both Ghana and Togo included him in their squads. “I feel deeply honoured to represent my country,” he said. “Ghana has a rich footballing history and I will wear the shirt with pride, loyalty and commitment.”
