Capable of some extraordinary moments, including three goals from the halfway line, one for Ghana’s under-20s, one for the under-23s, and one for Leicester against Ipswich in December last year which, measured at least 65 yards, was the longest-range Championship goal on record. His manager at the time, Marti Cifuentes, said: “It’s a brilliant moment from Abdul. He tries it a lot in training. He likes to look for those situations. He always pushes himself to be better.” Fatawu told the BBC: “I always try this from long range, and when I hit this one I didn’t have any doubts. I feel amazing.” He sustained an ACL injury in November 2024 but worked his way back, proved his form, and has again been linked with Premier League clubs.
