Profile

A lightning-fast left winger, Adel emerged from the Port Said scene, scouted at the age of eight. The son of the former Zamalek forward Ashraf Adel, he inherited his family's love of the game. His explosive speed and eye for goal drew attention quickly and he earned a move to Pyramids in 2018, helping them win their first two trophies ever, the African Champions League and the Egyptian Cup with his swagger and long-range strikes earning him the nickname “Baby Hulk”. Getafe tried to sign him, even flying him to Spain, but Pyramids held firm. Adel later said: “The club wants to keep me… and I respect their decision.” Now on loan at the Danish club FC Nordsjælland, where their Egyptian sporting executive, Hossam El Zanati, said the club had followed him for over three years and needed a “superstar” to open a pathway from Egypt. He was named best player at the 2023 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations and has 21 senior international caps with three goals.
