Attia is a hard-working central midfielder known for his engine and passing. He came up through the ranks at Al Ittihad Alexandria, breaking into their first team in 2019. I felt in my bones that I would be living my childhood dream”. He has emerged under Hossam Hassan as the foil to more attack-minded teams though he can also surge forward on occasion. At the 2025 Afcon, he burst into the box to score a brilliant opener against Benin, and later whipped in a cross for the winner. Off the field, Attia has shown quiet determination in tough times, losing his father in 2023, yet immediately returning to action to play a key role in securing a treble for Al Ahly.
