Haissem Hassan #12

FWD · Real Oviedo · Newcomer · Egypt

Profile

Haissem Hassan's international eligibility story is a tale of multiple competing claims. Born in Paris to an Egyptian father and Tunisian mother, and having represented France at youth level, he was sought by two national federations. Tunisia confirmed they had approached him; Egypt also made contact. Hassan made his decision on 15 March 2026 to represent Egypt, expressing his desire to compete at the World Cup. He launched his professional career with Châteauroux in France at just 16 in 2018, then moved to Villarreal in 2020, spending time in their reserve ranks before loan spells at Mirandés and Sporting Gijón. In August 2024, he joined Real Oviedo in Spain's second division, before being promoted to La Liga, and has become a regular starter since. The 24-year-old is predominantly a right-sided attacker, quick, direct, and comfortable in 1v1 situations.
