One of the most highly-rated young defenders in Egyptian football, Abdelmaguid joined Zamalek's system as a teenager and has become one of the club's most important players. He won his first league title in 2020-21 and added a second the following season, then starred as the club won the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup in 2024. Abdelmaguid – at 1.94m – is a dominant aerial presence who can play out from the back. On competition within the team, he said: “I always work and do what I have to do. Who will play and who will not play is up to the coach. What I have to do is to kill myself on the field and whatever the coach wants me to do, that's it. It’s done.” Still only 24, he is considered one of Egypt's best defensive prospects for the next decade. His contract with Zamalek ends in the summer and according to his agent and brother, Abdelmaguid has had interest from West Brom and Anderlecht among other European clubs.
