Yasser Ibrahim #2
DEF · Al Ahly · Late bloomer · Egypt
Profile
Ibrahim made a name for himself at Smouha, where he spent four seasons before joining Al Ahly in 2019 and becoming one of their most dependable defensive pillars at the club, making more than 230 appearances. He has a knack of popping up with the odd important goal too, making international headlines in 2021 after a first-half double against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the Club World Cup and scoring Egypt’s winner in extra-time against Benin in the last-16 at the 2025 Afcon with a looping header. At 33, he is among the most experienced defenders in the squad and his international career has seen a late bloom, with just 16 senior caps to his name at the time of writing.
