Michal Sadilek #18

MID · Slavia Prague · Adventurous · Czechia

Profile

At 16, Sadilek made a bold move. Instead of following his older brother Lukas through the academy system in his home country, he left for the Netherlands, joining PSV. Maybe the time apart did them good. “As kids we were together every day,” remembered Michal, “and sometimes like all little boys we got on each other's nerves, fought and the like.” But these days they couldn’t be closer. “I’m proud of my brother. We write to each other after every match, and when there's a chance, we talk about everything.” He moved to Twente in 2022 for three years, before returning home with Slavia in 2025. His international career hasn’t been without its ups and downs: he made his debut in 2021 but had to pull out of the Euro 2024 squad after injuring his leg when he fell off his tricycle at the training camp. The FA said the incident happened when he drove the three-wheeled bike through a pothole and crashed, but they didn’t criticise him. “The accident happened in the player's free time, which he was allowed to spend as he pleased. He did not violate team rules or other internal agreements."
