Widely linked with a big move after this tournament – this summer is a real chance for Sulc to showcase his talents. Soon after being voted the best Czech player of 2025 he joined Lyon from Viktoria Plzen for an initial €7.5m, handed the formidable task of filling the void left behind by Rayan Cherki. But he shrugged off that pressure and stepped up with some superb displays, earning plenty of praise from supporters. The reception surprised him. “It’s been incredible,” he said in April. “Honestly, I didn't expect so much love from fans or that it would happen so quickly … It’s my first experience in one of the top five leagues in Europe, and the football in Czechia is simply much less demanding. The coach has been brilliant with me.” He’s happy to be versatile, too. “I'll always do my best, even if they put me as a centre-back!”
