Margaritha knew that hard work was required to make it in professional football. In the end he had to be patient as well. After being released from the Groningen and Emmen academies he dropped into amateur football with VV Hoogeveen at the age of 19. “It was a difficult period, but I thought: OK, if I really want this, I have to show that I stand out at this level and that I want to move up,” he told the Keuken Kampioen Divisie website. Within six months, he had earned a move to Almere City FC. He stayed on track with spells at TOP Oss and Sabah before a move to Phoenix Rising in 2024. A creative winger with sharp acceleration, Margaritha joined Beveren this season, where he played a key role in promotion with seven goals and 12 assists. The title was already secured on 22 February, making it the earliest promotion in the Belgian second tier’s history.
