The 26-year-old Munich-born versatile defender has won the league every season in his professional career since his debut in April 2021 and, while that may not sound so outlandish given that he has always been under contract with Bayern, it is also worth noting that he did it in 2024 as well, when he was on loan to Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso. Stanisic played for Germany Under-19’s but switched to Croatia and still very vividly remembers his first call-up. “We were in the car, the whole family, and the call was on speakers,” he recalls. “I laughed, couldn’t believe it, but then I saw my sister cry. My dad also cried, my mum cried too. It was one of the most beautiful moments in my life.”
