Deroy is the younger of the two but is the more successful. He was called up a full two years before Laros and has become a starter alongside Kevin Pina in the heart of the Blue Sharks’ midfield. A powerful holding midfielder, content to sit deep and let Pina and Jamiro Monteiro bomb forward, Duarte is one of the key cogs of Bubista’s side. But despite the younger brother being the better of the two, Deroy sees them as a package deal with the national team. "I actually haven't thought for a second about the possibility that we might not be selected," Deroy told Espn after qualification. "Surely the national coach can't do that? Call up one of us and not the other?"
