Three years ago, Cabral was playing in the fifth tier of German football. Three months ago he made his Champions League debut against Real Madrid. It has been quite a journey. Born in Rotterdam, at 23 Cabral has already spent time in the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany before breaking out as a star for Portuguese side Estrela Amadora from whom José Mourinho took him from to Benfica in December. While predominantly featuring as a left-back for Cape Verde, he is capable of playing every position on either wing and is completely two-footed. After scoring with both feet as part of a hat-trick earlier this season, when asked which foot he prefers, he shrugged and said “it doesn’t matter”.
