A gentle giant off the pitch, St. Clair is a different character on it and at 1.90m, he is an intimidating sight for attackers. Armed with quick reflexes and strong hands, he became Minnesota United’s second ‘Wonderwall’ during his time at the club – the first being the standing-room only section at their ground. After winning the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2025, he said: “I almost feel like there’s a wall behind me and the wall on the line that means no ball’s going to go in.” The Wonderwall had a Bon Jovi-based tribute song for him, too: “Whoa he’s got great hair / whoa-oh, Dayne St Clair / with his hands, he’ll save it I swear / woah-oh, Dayne St Clair.” He moved to Inter Miami for the 2026 season, becoming teammates with Lionel Messi. “Any time that guy's on your team, the expectation is to win and to lift trophies,” he said. “To have those expectations and that pressure is a privilege.”
