A favourite of Ange Postecoglu, who oversaw his development at Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and the national set-up, Geria started his career as a member of the Australian Institute of Sport football programme in Canberra before joining Brisbane’s youth team in 2011. A year later Postecoglou signed Geria at Victory, where he became a regular name on the team sheet. Geria played for Australia multiple times at youth level before Postecoglou (again) called him into the Socceroos squad bidding to reach the 2018 World Cup. He made his debut in a friendly against Greece in 2016 and eight years later, after stints in Japan and multiple A-League clubs, Tony Popovic recalled him to the Socceroos squad for 2026 World Cup qualification.
